Title: Off road lights
Post by: Duleau on October 11, 2005, 12:11:33 PM
I'm putting a roof rack on my 2.0 litre 4 door Vitara and have 4-100 watt lights i want to put on.

Anyone see any problems running these if i watch to only light them while driving.

Thanks  Steven

Depends on where you are. Most states do not allow lights to be used on the highway that are above the bottom of the windshield (check with your state; please confirm) In fact, I believe that the Jeep Liberty had a model that had factory lights up on the roof rack and some state, New Jersey?, raised a significant fuss and stopped the sales of this model with the lights.

Bottom line, using the lights off-road = OK
Using the lights on the street = BAD

Hope this helps, Eric
