Title: Is this bad?
Post by: kansascitytracker on October 11, 2005, 07:59:22 PM
OK folks, I have a digital camera, but don't know how to post pics with it, so I am going to try to describe this the best I can. Directly above the rear wheel on the driver side, theres a square shaped thing that looks like it is a piece of the frame. Mine has seperated. The other side looks like rhino lining type stuff over it. Can the drivers side be welded back on? I figured cleaning it a tad with a wire wheel then clamping it to move it back into place and then finally a bead of weld around it would fix it. Any other ideas? It obviously wouldn't be red, but I think fixing it should be top priority. Its a 92 Tracker.

Taking a peek ay my fleet, the only thing I can see there is the upper spring mount.

If it has separated from the frame at the weld, you must be having too much fun with your truck!

I am in Independence, MO.

PM me if you would like to visit on this problem...

-Is this on the body or the frame?
-Is your Tracker a 2 door?
-Are you saying it has rusted all around it?

I think he's talking about the rear seat belt mount reinforcements on a 2 door Tracker.  Might be 4 door as well but I've never looked at one of them.  On my 93 on one side it was rusted almost all the way around the square mount.  I ended up just pulling the rear seat out because of it and having it welded shut.  Called it good after that.  Wasn't safe to haul someone in the back seat with the seat belt mounts barely connected to anything.
