...gear oil makes. Gee, I think I figure out why my t-case was whining....it was almost DRY. ::)
All topped off now, and now I have to drain and fill the tranny. Water + cold=shitty shifting!

If it was almost dry where did all the oil go ???
Major leaks some where :-/

or a gradual leak over a long period of time... seeping out of a seal somewhere, or even the drainplug.

There was still a touch in there.I think what happened was when I tow it, I drop the driveshaft. Well, one time, the driveshaft had slipped out of the back of the t-case, and I think that's where I lost ALOT of the fluid at. I had the DS tied up, so it just dropped and hit the x-member and stopped. Woulda sucked if I had lost it!! :o

YOU MAY ALSO HAVE WATER ON TOP OF THE TRANNY WHERE THE SHIFTER ROD HOOKS IN ,IF ITS HARD TO SHIFT WHEN ITS COLD. MINE WAS FREEZING SOLID WHEN IT GOT REAL COLD. JUST HAD TO SWAP IT THROUGH THE GEARS A FEW TIMES BEFORE I TOOK OFF. THERE IS A GREAT ARTICLE IN HERE ON IT SOME WHERE.
