Title: Sawzall vs lift
Post by: Fat Jake on October 17, 2005, 12:04:50 PM
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v408/alloutjake/sidekickmonster.jpg)

A local club around here goes wheeling on this guy's property.
From what I hear, this sidekick is unstoppable. Those are 44" groundhawgs.
No those aren't longer axles, thats half of another rim welded to the inside of the ones the tires are mounted on.
Best part is that my buddies tell me there is no lift whatsoever.
I didn't have the opportunity to go with on that trip, but next time I will, and I'll get more pictures.

edit: yes im aware this is not the smartest way to do things, but hey, sometimes you just gotta do things the hillbilly way

yea sorry the image messed up on photobucket, so i had to delete it and reupload it

The reason it's unstoppable is because they're using itty-bitty Trackick brakes with 44" tires :P

But seriously, that's a little silly. It's not hard to break stock drivetrain stuff with 33's.

with that size tires, i'll bet that thing would float. that is probably why it goes so good in the mud ;) how does he keep axels in it though?

I really have no idea.
I've wondered how it stays together. My guess is that he could care less.

A typical example of "I had some tire rub so I cut the hood". Well allmost at least  ;D. But it is humor, looks funny  ;D

Might??   I dont really think there is much of a question.

And once you git it going the momentum of the tires "weighing more the the truck" and the bouancy,  it would not take a lot to go just about anyware,  now if you were to stop and try to start again  that would be anouther story

makes you wonder  what the guy was thinking,   Humm....   tracker    44" tires   sazall  "maby it was a bet ? he might have made some money on that,"  Maby his wife pissed him off and he got drunk??

Call me a redneck but I like it. 8) I might have added some coil spring spacers and a 4 to 1. I bet that thing would rock in the snow.

I'm pretty sure that you can call yourself a redneck if you put 44" Ground Hawgs on anything ;D

It looks to me as if the instant the suspension compresses that sawn off bodywork is going to cut clean through those tyres.

A friend of mine had a CJ with 40's and it was sluggish, I couldn't imagine the kick with 44's!
