Title: OME struts?
Post by: sergi on October 17, 2005, 12:27:48 PM
Hi, I can buy some really cheao and mint condition front OME struts. The thing is they are for a 92 sidekick (gasoline). My GV is obviously much heavier, plus I've got a diesel engine (my front weighed in atround 800 kgs. I've been searching the web for OME struts, and all the shops that sell them make no distinction between Sidekick and Grand Vitara.
Now come the questions... I believe the OME struts will fit my vehicle, even f the struts are labeled for a Sidekick. My question is if these struts will feel too soft on my vehicle or not... Does anyone know for sure if they are exactly the same for the Sidekick and the GV? If they are, I'm going for them! ;D

Hmmm, I'd tread carefully there.  I "think" that I remember there is a difference...but I can't be sure.

Nice score if it works.

You might try finding a place that has ARB's part numbers available online and seeing what the difference is.  If it's the same part number you're good to go. 8)

I've searched the ARB website for OME equipment for the GV and the Sidekick. The reference numbers for all of them is N103S. That includes lifted Sidekick, lifted GV, both with normal rate springs and HD springs. So I would imagine they are the same, if there is only one reference for everything. Does everyone agree? ???

BTW: this is where I got the reference numbers:

Thanks for the help. These are some good struts for a very good price! ;D

hmmm, the struts are N31S. I've written to ARB USA to see what the differences are, but I bet they are waaaay to soft for a GV. Oh well... ::)
