I'm just cleaning up the engine swap (wires, clamps etc...) I got it running again Sunday night after changing the head gasket.
I started it with no rad etc just to check my wiring job & it ran great +/- a little tuning, then put the rad in filled it up hit the key and watched it spray antifreeze all over the ceiling in my garage >:((blown head gasket)
One new head gasket later I'm up and running again (the only gasket/seal I didn't change ::))
Anyways It sounds better than before & the exhaust sounds a little meaner to, throttle response is awsome and It rev's really quick after 2500 rpm ;D
I'm going for a road test tomorrow if I'm not still at work at supper time :'(
I used a 91 engine & a 89 harnes and ECM, I must like a challange or something. If anyone is interested I have a complete print out of an 89 manual trans right from the GM service books ( including full diagrams/w wire colors and the ECM plug ins diagram that shows voltage, color, location and description of what it controls)(ECM is unchanged until 95 or 96?)
This stuff was a life saver and made it pretty easy for someone who is only considered " mechanicly dangerous"

Awesome
Glad all facets of the swap worked out well.....but I hate to say it.
Iwould still rather be blown than injected!

I would really appreciate a copy of the wiring info!! That would be awesome. I run a 89 sidekick 1.6L 8-valve in my 87 zuk. I didn't have all the factory wiring info when I did the swap a year ago. Having it as a reference would be nice for future diagnostics!! I have a fax # (503-585-4883 attn: Davey) if you wanted to fax it. That would rock. Let me know. Thanks!

that would be cool how can i get a copy of such thing

I'd like a copy too. So basically you did the modifications that Trail Tough and others do to the wiring harness to get it to run? I'd really rather save myself that extra cash.

The pic didn't work (tried to clean it up and post it/but still can't read it)
If anyone else wants it I could fax (limited fax time but could do it if you want it)
Just post or PM me a number
P.S. darnold87 will fax WED in the a.m. ok

Hey Zaggy,
I don't get it, my buddie had that saying on his truck in high school and the cops made him scrape it off, said it was offense and suggestive ::)
Can you enlighten me on what he ment lol.

Send me the pic, I will see if I can make it work
and host it. Also you could fax it to me and I can
host it in a format that E-fax can read, and that's
a free reader for the downloading, then everyone
can download the file and read it, even print it if
wanted
Let me know
