Title: Oil Pan Change In 94 Sidekick 8 Valve

I was wondering how hard it is to change the oil base pan on my 94 Sidekick 4wd 8 Valve.  Do you have to lift the engine out or take the crossmember down to get at the pan?

I think the diff gets in the way a bit.  May need to lift the engine.  It's been a long time since i've done it.

Maybe a good time to remove you front axle and change the seals  ;D

I had to drop the front axle housing,
remove the center link and the CV shafts
and then you can just barley get it off
by removing the oil pickup bolt so the
pan will slip out from between the frame
and the engine.

I think it would be easier to pull the engine
instead of laying on your back for 5 hours

Don't you just hate being right all the time Wild. LOL

     I have to go along with Wild on this one, it's easier out and you are less likely to screw up and get a leak.

Well, I think I've tried every "short" cut
and most of them take longer, I only tried
to fix my oil pan leak 3 times, 3rd time was
the charm, and forget the crappy cork gasket,
just go get some Ultra Grey Silicone, and glue
that pan on, no leaks and it won't start in 2
years like the cork one will.
