Title: Mike's Widened Front End Question???
Post by: ksa421 on March 17, 2005, 11:12:27 AM
I am going to be running the Calmini Anvil and I was wondering if Mikes Widened front end build-up  would work with the Anvil?  I plan on running wider tires (12.50-13.50in wide tires) and want to get rid of the rubbing on the frame.

3 1/2 ofset.

Yes you will need to make a spacer for both sides.

instead of a spacer, why not use the GV drive shafts?  They are much longer than the vits.

So would I jus skip down to thi step then to make the spacers?

"Now for the drivers-side axle. Cut two more bases, stack them on and weld them. It is very important that these are welded. It looks like you could just bolt them in as spacers and call it good. What will happen is the torque will cause it to shift and twist off the bolts. Weld it. You will need three 3/8 grade 8 bolts three inches long."

Also when you say "bases" you mean the Triangle looking part right, where the drivers side axels bolts up? Did you weld it (the "spacer") to the inner axel shaft and then just bolt on the driver side CV shaft? Thanks for the help
