If you answered Suzuki C/V's move to the top of the class, all you others I don't want o know what you answered ! ;D
I removed my R/H hand axle, I blew the outer one this time and destroy the axle to as I keep driving on it for a bit :-[

This is the damage from my trip here http://www.zukiworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=9219.0
I'm thinking hard about the yota C/Vs but I know I wouldn't get away with the Hagen widening here as mine need to be certed to pass inspection and they won't like that bolt hole beening moved out. The only thing I could probably do is make some new "A" arms longer to take the extra length of the yota axles that fits into the standard bolt holes on the frame. :-\

Nice shiny balls!!
They work really well in a sling shot.
That spline looks fantastic. You definitely get the "tore the shit out of it" award for the week.
-
so what were you doing at the time? oh they are nice shiny balls

wouldn't you be able to shorten those yota CV's somewhwat? so they will fit without widening?
-
has anyone ever gone to a local import race shop and custon ordered a set for our trucks I mean If they can get a civiv one to hand standing starts with minimum 250whp we should be able to custom make some that will handle naked drunken off roaders .....ok well that was irrespinsible of me......I would never drive drunk
we should be able to make some it might be expensive

I don't know myself, but quoting Mike H from the here http://www.zukiworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=9229.0 he says "It actually reqires the widening mod, so if youve already done it your halfway there. CV shafts are from 86-94 I belive."
Widening on it's own has to be an advantage to start with as the wider you go the less angle you get between axle and C/V.

Just winching up a climb with my mates Sammy hooked to the back of me, wheel was spinning, locker was engaged and the R/H tire caught a small stump that had been cut off just below the ground.
Probably another contributing factor was I had turned to the left a bit and the R/H suspension was fairly well droop down :-\.
write up and pics from the trip are here: http://www.zukiworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=9219.0
Re: Civic C/Vs any thing is possible just depends how much $$$ and time you want to throw at it. Civic C/Vs might take 250 HP but the axle angles got a hell of a lot to do with it too, I bet you'd find the Civic C/Vs operate in a near perfect angle compared to a Trackick with lift.

My thoughts exactly

You don't need the widening mod, if you've got Calmini A-arms.
But if you have Calmini A-Arms, and an Anvil, you DO need "special" mods done to the inner shafts.
-
why not bob? I thought the calmini arms are the same length?
-
Mudfkr, why not do the new hole? I don't belive the inspectors will ever notice that there is a hole there, never mind associating it with widening the front. You could even cover the old one up with a bit of plaster and apply some paint on it... That's what I would do anyay (I've also got to pass inspections).

Have you looked into the Pajero/Montero option that Mike Dransfield is running over there. They come in different lengths and have a 29mm dia. shaft with 28 spline compared to the 28mm dia. 27mm spline Toyota. The V6 has larger CV's and the manual has a larger shaft dia. than the auto but the spline is still the same size. They use Asin hubs like the Toys and Zuks so that is fine. I'm trying to get hold of some here to measure up and see what is needed to fit them.
-
Gee Shane. You still busting those things. Just as well you got a few spares I guess.
What about this for an option?

Euhm, over where? And arey they shorter? As I'm not sure If I'll be able to do the widening mod with my Pro comp spring lift :-\

No the Calmini arms are longer. When I fitten my kit I fitted everything one part at a time and measured everything up. With the Calmini arms the stock driveshafts (without the front axle drop brackets fitted) were around 3/4" too short to even bolt up. With the stock arms there was around 3/4" travel remaining at full drop.

He's in New Zealand same as Mike Dransfield. Shane, I don't know if Mike did the work or if it was done by Autokraft in Palmerston North. Could be worth a phone call to Autokraft.

CJ,
I'm going to have to start investigating it and sort it out soon. I'll give Autokraft a ring next week and see if they know about it.
