It appears that right above the alternator, where the hose from the radiator enters the engine block, I have a slight leaking problem with the engine coolant. Im figuring its just the gasket there. Can anybody clue me in as to what the model number is for the gasket and possible how much it should cost? Also, how would I go about removing the hose end from the engine block? Just undo the 2 screws and go? Or will I have a slight spray of coolant all over the engine if I do this?
Thanks

sounds like the thermistat gasket you can get it at napa for like 5 bucks . sum coolant will squirt out but dont worry about it its a pretty easy fix you should change the thermistat wile youve got it opened ;D

Could this be the coolant tube behind the water pump ???
that would need a new O-ring, but would be more work

So, where is the thermostat located at? How much would it cost in parts for replacing that too?

Oh snap. After I looked closer at the hose it appears the drip is from there and not the gasket. Oh well, th gasket only cost $1.09 at Autozone so, not a big loss...

There was a little more than "a little" spray, more like a stream then just a slight drip. Other than that though, looks good, new gasket fit nice and tight in the spot. I checked it after a little drive and didnt see anymore leakage. We will give it time though. Could spring up as a problem again down the road.
