...and...

...and...
-
Looks a little Xterra in the front
I like the look of those wide fender flairs,
and it would look like it has some muscle
with that trailer in tow
-
OOOOHH it's got a winch
And it's got Thornbirds on it, notice the 4 Wheel IFS IRS ?

And I like the front better than the X

ok i have to admit that thing looks awsome. i could see myself driving one of those. a 2dr tin top would also be cool.
-
would be fun in sand, but NO ground clearance ... Add a double diff drop tho ...
-
now i feel a bout of design coppying comming on now.
that look would suit mt 4 door so well.
-
i don't like how thw exhust comes out the back( ::)) looks kinda cheesy if you ask me .. but other then that it looks pretty sharp. culd be lifted about another 4 inches
-
I would need something more radical than that but I can say that Im interested now. ::) Eric, do you know if the t case is the same as the older ones? I went to the suzuki dealer the other day and they look like an AWD. I didnt see a t case stick or even a button. Do you know the diff ratio and ring sizes? I wish I had one to play with. ::) Hey Eric, think you can con suzuki to get us one to (I use this term loosly) "Modify" ::) I volunteer to build one and I could probabally be talked into "testing" it too. ;D Feel free to give them my number. ;)

SWEET!
Those fender flairs would really set the 2dr off.
Maybe they would make us 4wheelers happy after all.
-
I like it alot.. I would buy one ;D
-
OMG, that is the sweetest thing ever, i wish car companies would turn concepts into production more, then the world of cars would be so much more ineresting!
-
put me down for 1!!!
-
actually... make it 2!!

From what I can tell, and it was hard to get under the car at the press launch (it's low), but it does look like the earlier t-case to me. One of the Suzuki tech reps that was there told me that the shifting forks to go from 'torque spliting AWD' to 'full-time 4WD was in the case and it was possible to 'open it up' and manually shift to full time 4WD. I then asked if the lower gears were also in the 'less equipped' units and he did not know. So, what this boils down to is we need more seat time and time to really give it a mechanical once over! :)

Now thats more like it !!!!!
I'd buy one of these over that wave style one any day.
-
I just looked at this thing again...
I noticed that those must be suzuki mototcycles in the trailer ;D

Me likey 8)

Cool rig, I'd like one, but lose the ghey ass thornturds. ::)
-
That is a pretty hot lookin rig. Of course all concept vehicles always seem to be done in bright yellow. I bet in other basic colors it would still be pretty sharp. I'd like to see it with a really huge opening sliding roof!
get some taller shoes and that ground clearance will improve.
All in all, with the optional 4WD set up this could be my next main rig!
-
that is super cool and i almost thought id want one until i seen those stupid thorntirds....
other then that its pretty wild looking. if they can put together a package like that and make it get 27-30mpg i think they would sell more then they could make...
would be a nice competitor to the escape and new FJ cruiser...
-
I Love this thing, just wanted to add that.
-
It'd be waaaay fun to high speed rally this thing.... I'd leave it just the way it is.
-
I looked at the New GV unibody low ground clearance so this truck would be more suited for the cottage then playin gint he woods with rocks and stumps
-
I actually like the IFS and IRS on the Dune,
gives you the option of moving the wheels
out to the corners to maximize the approach
and departure angles, as well as clear big tires
-
I like the focus of suzuki getting back to its 4x4 roots, and I like this thing. 250hp and 28mpg, a few inches more clearance and i'd buy one. Well if i had the money.
-
id be happy with 150-180 hp. either a big 4cyl or a nice small V6....like the 2.6L XL-7 engine...
26-28mpg would be a must though to make it economical. a few more inches ground clearance would be nice....but that also could be altered at a later date...
im honestly surprised the aftermarket hasnt really embraced the ford escape with lift kits and such. I think an escape on 32's or 33's would be pretty wicked lookin
-
before i bought the track, i actually looked at an escape. no lo range t-case and it's unibody :(. bds suspension is the only company i found that has a lift (and they recommend 30's) for it, and i found one concept vehicle done by fabtech that was really cool. ...but you're right: tons of them on the road and not much aftermarket stuff.
-
Eeeeewwwwwww...'turds..... ::)
Last I knew the GV's all had the same V6 as the XL7 had and they were only predicting high teens in gas mileage.
Don't hold your breath folks. Looks like you also have to order one of the higher end packages to get the priveledge of a 4low switch. ::)
-
why not buy a new 05 gv they are body on frame, 2sp transfer case, live rear axle, and they get good mileage. if suzuki doesn't bring anythin better to north america. the 05 gv will be the last of the good zuks here.
-
Heh I wouldnt mind reading about the Grand Star build up if Mike gets his hands on one. ;D
-
i do admit, that thing is fuckin cool, tho i wouldnt wheel it much, i would not spend 25+ grand on a new vehicle to go out in the bush and wheel it, i would drive it around town and logging roads no more then that tho. i would keep mine for wheeling,
p.s i can see why they used thornturds on it, they do look cool, LOOK that is
-
It's only a hype machine, not meant for production. the GV is all new and they want to get it seen, the Dune and Wave are simply meant to be "what if's" and draw a crowd. they don't plan to build it and are not getting back to their off-road heratige. The design inspriation for this vehicle was to make it look like a quad (hence the funny looking exaust pipe and radical flares) It is impressive, and does need at lest another 3 inches of lift. None the less i do think i will get a new GV.
-
mmmmmm I'll take 2. :)
