I could use some help. I have an 87 Sami that the VIN on the dash doesn't match the title. However, both VINS are registered to the same guy I bought it from. I suspect he had a parts rig and it is a mix. Where is the VIN on the tub or frame so I can check it as well?
Thanks,
Alfonse

Passenger side wheelwell frame rail, You may have to scratch off some paint or undercoating.
I suspect that the previous owner swaped the dash out for some reason. As long as the tags match the frame rail you should be ok. You could remove the missmatched tag on the dash without much harm. I believe there is another VIN number stamped on the body somewhere. DMV will know where it is.
It would be better to straighten the VIN #s at the DMV instead in front of the judge.
Good luck with that...Gary

I think Gary Monk at Petroworks.com sell a great aftermarket metal dash for Sams...has one on his personal Yellow Sam. Thw speedo cluster pops right in and has cut outs for after market guages.
