Hello,
Glenn from Rocky Road Outfitters has asked me to forward the following information on. He also noted that RRO will be selling non-CARB Thorley Headers for the 1.6 16-valve beginning immediately.
"I need some help from the Suzuki world. I've been bugging Thorley for years to do a smog legal header for the 16valve. They have built one. I saw the lone production model at the SEMA.... it is being sent to me to mount on my X90.
In order for the public to obtain them though, we have to get EO approval from the CARB. To do this, we need a very specific vehicle that Thorley can test for the CARB. This will require that someone drops their vehicle at Thorley in Corona, CA for several days. In exchange, they get a free Thorley smog legal ceramic coated exhaust estimated to boost HP 15-20 over stock (we'll know the exact number when they do the dyno testing for CARB)...
...We need to find a 1.6 16valve engine on a 1998 Sidekick or Tracker. Can't be any other year, has to be a 1998. "

If all goes well will they be able to manufacture for other years?
I have a 1992 and usually that year is buggy for some reason.ÂÂ
Sucks too since I live in Fontana and could let them test for however long they needed it

Oh Glorious Day! I am delighted that a smog-legal header for the 16V is finally hitting the market.
