Lower gears and a larger selection of lower gears.  (low in t-case A)x(low in t-case B)=double the crawl ratio.  And if you put a 4.24 gearset in one of them,  you end up with even more available ratios.  (1.81 stock, 4.24 low and 1.81x4.24[7.67] ultra low)

Where can I get one for a GV?
And, what is the second case and how did you mount it?

It helps the driver concentrate on just steering the rig as the passenger in the back can change gears for him with the stick mounted further back there.  ;D

Also duel case's equal lower gearing and more choices for ratios thus making the rig even safer by going slower , less impact if you hit some thing  much  much safer  ;)

Nope, it's not a Kicker 2.....It's a "Kick Box" that I designed and built.

The Dual Kick T-cases are mounted together using a completely custom adapter plate and specially machined output shaft. Pass side front output is cut off of the first case so as not to interfere with the output of the second case. This setup only adds 9 inches to the total length.

As it says above, I am calling this the "KICK BOX"

Do you plan to make a new gear level as mudfkr says your co driver will be in the back seat unless you get out se the gear then drive on ?

just thought of a plus on this over a kicker3,  you don't need an offset rear to use it with out vibes(yea yea, CV shafts bla bla bla)

Are you sitting down?..... because you'd choke if I told you. Right now it costs way to much to economically sell it, but if I can find a way to make it cost effective I would like to build more of these although mass production, like with the Toy setups, is not currently a possibility. Please keep in mind that I am not posting these pic's as a "for sale" ad, but rather to get other peoples creative juices flowing....... 8)

I'll be installing it after I finish up a few customers rigs. I still have a 2.0 swap to do, a 1.9TDI swap, and another Tracker SAS to do in the next few weeks. The second t-case shifter is only moved back 9 inches from the original location so it is still between the seats. This setup is almost the same length as the Toyota dual T-case setup and would easily work in a Track/Kick or LWB Zuk just like a few guys I have seen with Yota stuff in them.
This will add a whole new set of options for guys that want more gear selection.....about 8-1 when used with the lower gearsets in the market.

No detailed pic's for now, but what questions do you have about the Kick Box?

Ask away, I'll only give you straight answers.
As for streamlining the process, well I originally had hopes to make the Kick Box as affordable as the Toyota dual transfer case setups on the market, but at this time it's still more than them. It will continue to be more expensive than the Toy stuff unless I can get the cost of the machining shafts down considerably which means they would need to be machined in large quantities. I am working on getting costs down without cutting corners, but with the price of everything going up it is a challenge.
After building one I need to install and test it to make sure that it can handle the stress we would put them under. I fully anticipate that the design will work well, but there is always room for improvement in even the best designs.

A slip-yoke eliminator would also be need as an option for those with long travel suspensions and a custom dual T-case mounting system/skid plate is already designed and will be installed and tested along with a rear heavy duty gas tank skid plate when I install it all. I also have a new heavy duty custom front skid plate for those who still have the IFS.

Title: kick and sammy Dual t-cases
Post by: Evildead on December 06, 2005, 12:40:40 PM
How much longer is a sammy t-case added to a sidekick t-case and tranny combo???   Using short shaft or kicker 3??

And has anyone built their own kicker 3 setup???

I really like this setup what did you use to shift the front case I've been looking at doing this but not sure how to shift it have you tried it yet.

The 1.9 VW Diesel swap I am in the middle of uses the Keltec Kit and it is a well designed kit that is more complicated than it needs to be (in my opinion) and no it is not that straight forward of a swap.....much more complicated than the average motor swap.

I really like this setup what did you use to shift the front case I've been looking at doing this but not sure how to shift it have you tried it yet.

The shifter is extremely simple with a notch cut in the shift rail and the shifter mounted on the side of the case pivots forward and backward. That's all the details I want to go into right now. I will install it in the Tracker as soon as I catch up on customers rigs.
