My 94 Sidekick coughed the auto tranny and I replaced it with another. The old one had vacuum shift modulation and the new one appears to be electronic. The tranny works fine but must be shifted manually. Is there any way to wire this thing up to shift normally? The new tranny came from a 4 door.

ah yes but what year of a 4 door? ;D After '96 they went electronic. was your old one a 3 spd or 4 spd?

ALL of the 4 speeds need a computer and wiring harness to install them, but it will need to integrate with your ECM properly. You will also need a FSM to figure out the wiring and from what I have seen it may not even work with an early model ECM. Then again I have never done a 3-speed to 4-speed auto swap and maybe there is someone on the BBS who has.
