hello fellow mudders, i have a 90' tracker w/ stock engine and gears ,2'' body lift and 2'' spring lift, still have factory steel rims ,i think they r 5.5'' . i would like to go w/ as large tire as i can , but keep in mind i live in eastern kentucky (hill country) i dont want to bogg it down to bad, this is a daily driver (well a couple days a week) .

What is this "mud" you speak of?

235's, 30's or even might be able to squeze 31's on there, but I wouldn't go any bigger on stock rims.
-
I'd suggest 30's (might wanna get some used 15x7 rims too).
-
sorry, but its mostly trails /w mud and maybe a few rocks thrown in , but mostly its MUDDIN not rock-crawlin
-
I would probably stick with a 235/75/15. (29" tall tire)
This company has good prices.
They get good reveiws also!

31" Boggers. ;D
[sarcasm] explosivo...play nice ;D We all know newbies need 33" Thornbirds ;) [/sarcasm]

I had a 91 track/w same 4" lift and had 235's on stock wheels. they fit nice and no fender trimming needed. It didn't affect driving unless you like doing 70+ up hills all the time(60 all day long no problem)
hope that helps ;D ;D

do i need lower gears if i go w/ larger tires later ?, if so where do i get'em
-
Yes, you will probably need lower gears if you go any larger than a 235.

guys I have a 92 kick and when trying to find tires every safety related paperwork say that I cannot put anything larger than 215/75/15 on the stock 15/5.5 rims
Is this incorrect?
-
PFFT giver some 31" swampers... Id be to afrade to run anything with a low ply rating, yesterday wheelin a guy blew his wussy 215 on a blunt rock, makes you feel real safe on the road eh... my gf has 31" interco trxus mt's on stock zuki rims... feel very safe on them, safer then the stock tires

Hey Busdriver,
I have been running 225-75-15's on stock steel Tracker rims for three years now with no rub and no problems. I run 30psi on the highway and 12psi on the trail.
I'd like to get a set of 235's but these things just won't wear out...
-
and these are the 15/5.5 rims or the sami 15/6 inchers??
I went to two shops and the would not mount 235/75 B cuz they would fall off??? oh yeah I was looking at the bds 2 inch lift...what size tires can i put on.....I am just a trail driver not a rock crawler
-
stock steelies any different than stock aluminum rims?
-
Go try the least reputable shop in town that's how I got mine mounted.
I'm running 235/75/15 on the stock samurai wheels 15x5.5 seem to fit fine I wouldn't go any wider on the wheels.
You can get 215/85/15 swampers from interco.

I think from what I've heard and seen you should not go wider than 9.50 on the width of the tire unless you get a bigger rim.
