Title: Lockright lockers
Post by: dave on December 01, 2005, 08:19:43 AM
Today i've received my lockrights. I've odered 1 for a sam rear and 1 for kick rear. But wenn i compere both gears (="driver's"à tjey look the same and they have the same size. The only diffrence is that the sam kit has pinionshafts in it and the kick kit dont.

Is that normal??? I thought that the kick gears would be bigger?

is the kick one for the front or rear? axle shafts are the same size in the rear of a kick and a sammy. the third member and ring gear is bigger and I THINK the carrier is bigger as well.

I'm told you can actually put the Samurai rear lockright into a Sidekick rear carrier so I'm guessing they will be the same size.  If you read the hybrid rear axle info on Trail Tough's site: "Can also be used with the Samurai type Lock-Right or E-Z Locker. ".  I'll be trying this when I get around to putting my hybrid rear in.

from what i understand they dont make a locker for the front of a side kick???? i have just put a rear in and would like a front. after looking at all the writeups on front end strengthening it looks as if i would need a samurai carrier and have it machined to fit cv's?

ok from i have been studying this front end strengthening/locking and it looks like i would need to buy a samurai carrier, have it machined to fit cv's, and it should fit right in my front end i think. the only question is, is do i have to get a samurai front or rear third? has anyone else done this that i can ask a few more questions? thankks
