I'm thinking about fitting 35" on my Sidekick. But what would it take to do it?
I have a 3 inch bodylift an was thinking about +/- 5inch suspension lift. In the rear a 4 link setup and in the front the UFS extremly modified (longer arms etc).
For the gearin I'm bussy building an kicker 3 setup. The rear axle would remain stock and the front would be upgraded to 26 splines, steel housing and mayby Toy CV's.
Any ideas are always welcom. I want to maintain street driveability.

Is it going to be a streetable rig? This will make a big difference in what I would do.
The easiest and strongest way in my opinion is to do as much fender trimming as possible. Do not try to make it a flex machine. Keeping strong angles on the CVs will be very important. Less angle the better. Another big factor Ive found is to run a tire without large paddles. A good choice is a Goodyear MTR, BFG Krawler, Pitbull Rocker BFG muds are decent but beware they have a weak sidewall.
To be perfectly honest I would start with a 33 and learn the rig. A trackick with 33s on 10 inch rims is really impressive. I know several rigs runnin 33s that do very well. It will allow your axles to handle a little more of a beatin. Harley, A guy we wheeled with in Utah last year kicked some serios butt with a 2 inch Calmin suspension and 3 inch body with 33s. Lots a fender trimin. Nice lookin rig and very durable.

i agree with mike over 33's you start to get into heavy suspension mods. almost every susp. part of my rig has been modified or tweeked to fit 37's. stan

My current size of tires are 32x11.5... ;)
I'm going to use a set of BFG Muds, mainly bcoz i still want to drive it on the street. Wenn I would to go heavy in te mud (and I can afford them) I would take a second set of tires, a simex or copy's from them.
My suspension now I've made with spacers and I'm nog very happy about it. So I'm going to remake my suspension and order some good springs (costum made i think).

Another question: Would my rear axle, a stock sidekick axle, break with those tires or not?

I found this one on cardomain, it's on 36's I believe. His writeup only says he has the calmini 6" combo, and some trimming.

That depends on the driver. I was breaking axles with 31s but the rockstar has 35s and does not break rear axles. Vehicke weight and driver skill are a huge factor but I would say definately pushing it.

Mike, your running 35's using the Calmini body lift & 3" suspension kit, and your web page states it's modified to 5" front susp. lift, and 4" rear, what got you the extra 2"/1" ?

Here's the link for this if you're interested, he has a pretty good write-up with what he liked/disliked.

The front has a lot of frame altering and relocating just for 2 more inches. This would be very hard to explain and I doubt anybody would do to achive this. It would be easier to just do a frame chop like the Rockstar project. If I were to do it again thats what I would do. The rear suspension is pretty much my links and mounts with relocated spring pockets. At this point the only Calmini rear suspension left is the coils from the 3 inch kit.

Ya know I keep seeing that red tracker on 36" tires pop up. Has anyone ever seen pictures of it doing anything other than sitting there with those 36" tires on it. I am wondering if it's a "Glamor" shot and then he took the tires off cause they rubbed too much. Either way It looks good.

I don't think those are quite 36's hes still got a lot of fender not to mention the gap above the tire to the wheel well doesn't look that much differnt than mine with my 33's.... and if you look at the rear of the kick where the body lines off the bottom hit the tire, its not to differnt than a kick with 33's.... just an idea.... the front bumper how its shaped makes the front look more aggresive, because the ends turn up so it reveals more tire than is actually below the bumper lines... not that i'm pessimistic but im doubting if those are actually 36s
