Body side of hinge, You cant see in the pic but it is radius'd to fit the 1.5" tube that is bolted to it. It also need the pins pressed into it.

A little more.
Center councel finished, we will have to wait for the tube to come back to mount the forward plate in correctly. Plates all cut for the rear tire carrier, just need to weld tabs in it. Started the cage gussets pics of those tomorrow.

Is it possible to get a weight idea to the tubing added? Or a final weight at completion? To compare to a Sami, stock and mod'd (the normal way LOL)....

Our normal full cage is about 125#'s.. The exo tubing total is just over a full interior cage. So I would guess 180#'s But we have removed that much weight in original equipement.. We are going to weight it before we deliver it to get an actual right now its all guess work

I was wondering that too, I guess 180lbs isn't too bad. Also it does looks fantastic and thats some real quality looking work. 8 months is pretty good, those door latches must have taken a good few hours to fab.

We recieved the rig the middle of last January.. After we finished the show truck we started working on this mid April.. not a bad time line so far.. There has been alot of just looking, measuring and designing that took place to gain as much real world driveability into an unbuilt rig.. The owner wants to do quite a few thing's with it.. It wont be the best at all but should perform well in applications.. time will tell.
As for the latch mech, couple hours after i new how I wanted them to work. I needed to be able to reproduce these in a fasion to make the doors affordable and at the same time fit every rig..

Ok latches are done on and adjusted, tube doors are capped..
What you see is the housing I made to fit our latch.. has some adjustability in and out. Up and down is done by the hinge.

This photo looks like a sweet start on a Zuk look alike tube chassis. I would have had a hard time not linkin it and throwing some axles under it.

Ya I know, I have the entire cage design in Bend tech so I will be able to make another.. I have definetly thought about making a mid engine crawler with this as the chassis...

Between yesturday and today so far...
All tube work finished, and is being double checked, Front light panel which is polished stainless has been blued with a torch and repositioned in the grill. Front of bumper was reworked to get rid of the giant Reciever Dick look.. It is still usable by way of bottom access. driving light tab is now welded into the grill. And I am finishing up the spinner for the spare tire carrier..
