SUPERZUKI TO BE SOLD OFF AS PARTS!
Yep, made the decision today - Tuesday the 22nd of February - to throw the towel in and finally give up this offroading malarkey! It's been fun, I've been doing it for eight years now, but the sparkle has gone out of it for me, so it's time to move on...
So, the truck is being broken up, for a couple of reasons - 1) She's my Superzuki and I couldn't bear to see someone else driving her, 2) She's got a few problems - heater, fan, lights don't work after the drowning in the lake, so I'm loathe to sell her off in one piece for someone else to have the truck with things wrong with her, and 3) I reckon I'll get more money back selling her in pieces rather than a whole.
From his site: www.k9rdj.co.uk I liked reading his adventures too but I think it is the fact that he hasn't off roaded for a while and he didn't miss it......
Too bad. :'(

I think its just a cry for attention. How can you not like to wheel once youve been adicted? You dont just stop liking it..... ???

That's sad to see! I wonder if I'll ever get tired of Lion's Back, or any of the other trails at Moab, or the thousands of miles of trails here, in the mountains of Colorado. For me, at least, there's more to wheeling, than just wheeling - it's a means to get to trailheads for backpacking, and it's a social thing, too. I have met more of my imaginary internet friends at Moab, than I could ever have hoped to meet any other way.

Exaclty! there is soo much more than just the wheeling, but it play's an important part. I ahve met a ton of cool people because of wheeling, and more important, zooks.

Yeah I'll miss reading his adventures too, it's one web site that I check every few weeks to see what Dave and Superzuki have been up to.
Oh well he might get the bug again and return at some stage, who know's with Superzuki II :)

Yea, a SAS four door ;).

it is sad for sure. i loved reading his adventures, but most seemed to end up with his rig being towed home. i guess it just burned him out. but it's a good thing he decided to part out superzuk instead of someone else driving it. that rig had it's own personality which is unique to dave.
all the best to him though, hope he returns someday with superzuk 2

Dave Jones in a typical 'end of the day' pose at Tong last March. Mobile phone in on hand AA card in the other. I think the never ending expense had a lot to do with him giving up

With moving, I haven't wheeled in a year now. :'(
I can see how some might not go back it after taking a break of if.
But for me I can't wait to get it going again!!

Its sad to see Superzuki being all dismantled. I've followed the site for about a year now. But I guess its time for him to move onto bigger and better things.
