Title: My First Samurai - Project #2 - Homemade Rear bumper
Post by: ShawnQ on December 23, 2005, 12:33:25 PM
Ok guys, not quite as many 'in progress' pics because I built it a lot faster than the front. Spent about 4 hours on it.

Total cost: $35 (including hitch, lights, and steel)

Yet to do: Reverse lights, Tow Hooks of some kind/shackles.

Mounts: Two mounts where factory trailer hitch mounted on bottom. Mounted up top on body mounts. I may end up adding another in the center, we'll have to see how this holds up with a load on it.

The license plate is only there 'temporarily'. I plan to either french it into the tailgate or make my own new tailgate (my current one is trashed, dented in from someone backing the spare tire into something).

What do you think?

And a full pic showing the rod holder in front.

I've since re-painted all of the fender flares and rockers, and all of the wheels.

What do you think?

NICE WORK! I wish I could get that much done in 4 hours... I like how you tied it into the stock flares for such a finished look. I think I'll try something like that on mine. Looks great!

Very nice rear bumper.  Its unique, yet it looks like it belongs to the rig.
Somthing like that might look good on a track/kick also.
