Title: gear lash
Post by: bentparts on December 23, 2005, 04:46:51 PM
??? Hey guys, in the process of installing my arb, and as per practice, before i removed the old diff I measured the gear lash between ring and pinion. I got readings of .003 and .005  90 + 180 degrees apart. I checked this several times as it seemed a tad tight to me. This is the used gear set I picked up for my auto, and it has about 130k on it. All the teeth look good, and it ran quiet. That just seems tight to me, but what do I know, my 1st zook. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks

Spec is .008 so yours was not way too
tight, but a little more wouldn't hurt

Thanks Wild, I may add a bit to the new set up.  BTW, how many posts does it take to move up from newbie status anyway?
