Title: Switch closest to the engine on the transmission?

I just took off my transmission on my 86 samurai, and was wandering what was the switch closest to the engine block?  I forgot to disconnect it, and it broke. Thanks

Uh could be your 5th gear or reverse switch. I could be wrong though, I don't really understand the question.

If it has a yellow and a red wire going to it, it should be the backup light switch. 
If it has a light blue and a black wire going to it, it should be the 5th gear switch.
