Title: Tire Rotation
Post by: 99Trackerconv on December 28, 2005, 02:02:42 PM
I went and rotated my tires finally. ::)

The rear two are about 50% left

The front two and spare are about 75%+ left

I move 2 of the 75% to the rear and 1 to the front leaving me with 1 50% on the front also.

It's been steering weird lately. Should I put two 50%'s on the front? Would it be ok in the snow in 4wd?

You should I put two 50%'s on the front. You should also start rotating a lot more often. Its recomended every 6000 miles. I rotate every time I change my oil. (3000 miles).

OK thanks Mike.

I try to rotate my tires as soon as I can but I don't have a garage or even a drive to do it in/on so it's kinda hard. I'm not gonna pay money for something I can do myself though either.

I find it weird that your rear tires were more worn than your fronts.  Typically front tires wear faster in a vehicle that has more weight in the front, unless you're burning out and I don't think you're doing that in your tracker :).

I haven't had my tracker on one set of tires long enough to need rotating but on other cars I would always swap the rears with the front.  This would put the less worn tires on the front which is what you want.  Being able to steer is more important than being able to go.  ;D
