Title: drivers side front axle removal
Post by: bentparts on December 28, 2005, 02:43:44 PM
??? I've got my front diff housing on thae bench and want to remove the drivers side axle, in order to remove the carrier. Before I attach a slide hammer to the flange to pull it out, is there somthing I should know? Like  is there a circlip or some other fastener inside the housing or is it like the ear axle and just a pressed in bearing?   I did a search on this and could only find info on the pass side. Thanks

:D Got It! A little more searching, and a BFH. I still can't get used to all this hammering and pounding, I've been workin' on Harleys too long.

It just came out using more force, correct?  ...shouldn't be anything keeping it in there like a c-clip?

It had the same c-clip. wire type , as the other side. Couple of whacks, and it came right out.
