In the long run it will be probably be cheaper just to swap the engine. Then you can mod that engine.  ;D

You can also consider upgrade paths. Many things on the 1.3 and 1.6 are interchangeable. So - you could get a Cam ($100), header ($200), exhaust and carborator for the 1.3 that will all bolt up to the 1.6L later.

Of course - the CHEAPEST mods you can do - are just a regular tuneup. www.hawksuzukiparts.com (http://www.hawksuzukiparts.com) has a great tune-up kit that comes with everything you'll need. Then check your timing, and valve lash (free labor).

huh??? many things are NOT interchangable from the 1.3 to the 1.6 ...

the most expensive way is to build up the 1.3, then decide you want a 1.6, and then be swirling your 1.3 upgrades ...

I think he may have meant from the 1.3 8V to the 1.6 8V. The 16V are different and the 1.3  8V parts won't swap over.

My cousin has 33's with an 8:1 and stock gearing and cruises well down the road.  I'm not sure he takes it over 65, due to it being mostly run on the highway and not the freeways.
