8v Performance Header ??
« on: December 31, 2005, 07:15:23 AM »
Im going to be doing a custom 2 & 1/4 exhaust system with a high flow cat and muffler form Walker, But I need a little help with my header, I really would like to get the Calmini performance header, but there are some things that are holding me back. First I live in Toronto Canada, and I dont know what the $$duty and shipping$$ will be like??  And the other reason is, how good is the Calmini header and how come I cant fined anyone in Canada that sells a performance header for my zuki??  Thanx

I bought the entire Calmini exhaust directly from Calmini and it worked out to about $700CDN including shipping and all charges. Having said that, in two years and 100K the muffler was shot, the cat rattling badly and the tail pipe was rotting through at the axle bends. I just put on a 2.5" aluminized exhaust from the header back with a dynomax muffler...it sure has a bark now ;) I do recommend the Calmini header, I've had many compliments on it from exhaust shops and performance guys...it is a good design.

The header shouldn't rust away as its ceramic coated.

Good Advice

I too have the Calmini header and even though mine is in a real non stock use the quality and workmanship are excellent.

I would also recomend taking a look at the Thorley 1.6 8v Header, IMO it is better quality...

I am running the Calmini Setup, and if i had it to do over I would take the Thorley

CAreful on the Thorley header...

As I recall they build it with round exhaust ports....Suzuki's have square exhaust ports, a mis-match like this kills flow and defeats the purpose.

Worth checking out to see if they corrected the problem cause Thorely makes good headers.
