I just pulled the lockrite out of my 5.62 rear, and there was only one pin?   The two short pins weren't used???

WTF?  was someone silly?  I have never used a lockrite, and I won't be using this one... but I was going to install it in my 5.12's to sell...     I don't have extra pins..   what am I missing here???   I guess whoever buys the 3rd's will probably have pins from their current gears..

This supposedly came from Sky at one point, but I don't know if he built it, or just bought and sold it..  there was definately just one pin in it though..

Another thing......  are the 5.62 R&P's still available? My rear pinion has a fair amount of wear, and if I ever get an ARB and turn this thing back into a on road/off road buggy, instead of a trail only rig, I would want to put fresh R&P in the rear.. the front is fine (of course)

Your lockright came with the pinion pins? OR did you buy a third that was locked? I forgot..

If you have the two short pins, I could sure use them to make the 3rd's I have more complete for selling..

Just let me know what you want for them...  I can source the roll pins (retainers)

I have seen pictures of other lockrights that only have the one pin, but they were designed for carriers that only had one pinion pin hole..     I guess it had been used that way for a while, the pin that IS there isn't excessively worn, although you can tell it's seen some use...

Thanks Tom...    let's be seeing some pics of that front bumper!!!

Yeah, I am talking about the pinion pins, not the little pins that go between the halves of the lockright.. I should have been more clear.

It's hard to believe they ran it that way... but a lot of Lockrites and rear carriers only HAVE one pin... so I guess it isn't THAT bad... (sure looks bad to me... LOL)

Well, yeah then.... hell yeah, I'll take them.. it will make a more complete set up, and be more attractive to the bidders that way.. They should be on Ebay by next week....

Tom, I will PM you my address... should be about a buck or two to send the first class mail, make sure you tape them to some cardboard or something they won't bust out of..  :D  thanks AGAIN!

Don't ge so hasty about Ebay now.  So, these need a rebuild kit to make them complete?  Or just the parts being sent to you?  Or is this basically the same thing?

Been thinking about a lock rite for awhile.  Pluses/minuses on the road?  I expect compromises versus a big $ ARB.

Thanks.

I have never run one...   I opted for a mini-spool from the get go on this little rig

When I bought a set of 5.62 3rd's the rear had a lockright installed (with one pin through the locker) it had obiously been run that way..

SO, when I pull my 5.12's (which are in fine shape by the way) I am going to pull the mini-spool out and put it in my 5.62's... and then I was going to install the lockrite in the 5.12 rear, and sell them as a set..... worth more that way..

So many people wanted either the locker, or the front, or the rear... that I decided the easiest way was to just put them on the bay, and let the high bidder win, fair for everyone.. The last set of 5.12's that came with a locker (not installed) went well over $400.00... so I am expecting somewhere between $300-425 out of them on the Bay, with the locker installed, or at least included.. I still have the original spiders and side gears too...

My first objective is to get my 5.62's set up and installed.. but once I get around to selling the 5.12's all they will need is the backlash and carrier bearing preload set... the pinion depth and pinion bearing preload will still be fine..   hell, I might even install and set up the Lockrite.. it's really not that big a deal... but if it were me, I would check it anyway, so I assumed whoever bought the 3rd's would go over them before installing them anyway... (I would.....)

I will post on the "garage sale" forum when they are actually listed...
