Gas Leak
« on: February 24, 2005, 01:33:06 AM »
Hey yall this is my first post on this website and ive got a question Im curious about. Ive got an 88 samurai thats in good mechanical condition but the body is primered and beat up but i bought it for only $400 and it makes one hell of a farm toy and is cheaper than buying another quad. My problem seems to be that my gas gauge goes down when I get back in the vehicle after leaving it parked for a day or or a day and half and its obviously dropping my gas mileage. If i dont stop driving it and check it i get 24mpg and otherwise i get like 18-20. The guy i bought it off of said he got 28 so im trying to figure out whats going on. Its not a big deal since this is just a beater and i have something else to drive around also.

welll..........

Is it leaving a spot on the ground?

If you crawl around on it, and give it the sniff test, can you SMELL gasoline anywhere?

If you have a leak in the gas tank, you might want to drop in a Petroworks 15 gallon tank.
