Rear drive shaft legnth (How long)
« on: February 19, 2005, 01:47:54 AM »
Just curious of the legnth of the Kick rear drive shaft 2dr & 4dr 4wd.

:-/

I'm stuck in the compute and cant find my way out.

Looking for a center of U-joint to center of U-joint  or any other measurement you can give as long as you let me know where you measured from and to.

Hoping some of the SAS guys have the info on hand.

My 2dr 4wd 1998 Sidekick has a rear drive shaft legnth (center of U-joint to center of U-joint) of about 28.5"

I will try to measure the 4dr later this evening.

Our front drive line is ~33.5" (flange to flange).
Our rear drive line is ~42.5" (flange to flange).

Remember, this is our SAS setup with a Kicker3, not stock.

Looks like my 4dr rear drive shaft Flange to Flange with (SYE) will need to be about 41" at static height.

Now to source a Toyota driveshaft that will live at the 41" mark.

Hard to believe yall are at 42.5 with the Kicker 3.  How far back did you step the rear axle.

The center of the hub, at rest, looks to be nearly directly centered below the tublar cross member hole, directly in front of the gas tank.   (The tube, that sticks out)

I figure that we moved it back maybe 3 inches from stock..  Maybe its so long because we're up so high?
