help High idle

88 sami carburated with no egine mods other than header exhaust and intake, and what looks like a carburator/throttle spacer(bought it with it) engine idles at 3,000 how do i tune this down and what should it idle at?

I'd try to see if you can try checking with idle speed screw on your carb. See if you can get it to idle better. Another thing you can check is to see if you can adjust the throttle cable a bit. If it is too tight, it will cause the motor to race.

Just a couple of options you can try.....

Check for air leaks around the manifold and check all the vacuum lines too.

Good call about vacuum leaks. Forgot about that one.....

Just spend some alone time with her.....you'll figure it out.  ;D

This may be it.... There are two idle set screws on a Samurai Carb. Cold/Hi idle and Warm idle. The cold idle is a larger screw located toward the back of the carb in the midst of the linkage and is the easier one to see. If it's turned in to much this problem can happen. The warm idle is at the base of carb on the passenger side and is harder to spot.
