well im considering getting a tabor winch, they are made by warn so quality should be good. just wondering if anybody has any input on them. our local 4x4 shop has them for 600 with roller fairlead(thats for the 9k one). let me know i need a winch to put in my trail tough bumper spot its kindly lonely up there ::)

also any input on switching to synthetic rope would be helpful.

If you get a chance to go with a synthetic rope I would say do it. Life expectancy is great, and it doesn't develop kinks link cable can. Not that there is anything wrong with cable.
