you can DIY a fiberglass front hardtop if ya got the time ...
essentially get a "frame" made of wood that fits into the "well" around the gasket, staple some stretched fabic over the frame, get the fabric impregnated with resin (properly making where you DONT want resin sticking!), when that's hardend, remove and reinforce with additional resin and matting (and cut a hole for some aftermarket popup sunroof).
make sure you figure how it's going to be attached (aka tnuts into the frame, or small blocks for clips or ...
get the frame so you have the fabric just hitting the gasket (this is the only tricky part since the roof line bows left to right) ... when you add the extra matt to build it up 1/4" thick, that'll compress the gasket for a nice seal.

A DIY front piece won't be too hard tho ... finding a cheap popup sunroof, that's tricky.
