High idle after engine swap
« on: June 23, 2006, 07:49:20 PM »
Well I picked up a tracker with a blown motor last weekend. I put my motor in it this week and fired it up tonight. It cranked right over and started right up. It was idleing high and then idled down I assume after the computer regained its memory. Then I went to drive it and it idled back up after I put it in gear. The kick I got had no computer in it and is a 5 speed. My old one was an auto. I used my auto computer and it seems to work ok as far as everything goes. Tomorrow I am going to pull my codes out of the computer cause after driving it for a bit the check engine light came on. I just didnt know if anyone knew where to look. Also on my engine there is a vacumm sensor or something on the back of the intake manifold that the manual engine didnt have, I just plugged it but didnt know if maybe it would change anything. Thanks, Andrew BTW this is a 16 valve engine.
