I was wondering if anyone makes a bug deflector for the tracker, because people think I need to replace the windshield because it is cracked (even though I dont think it matters) but I might replace it anyways, just because it is chipped and pitted from driving in the snow and desert(sand) and is etched in the pattern of the windshield wipers. either way, I want to get a bug deflector to protect the new windshield when I get it, so the same thing doesnt happen again. Also, I have heard rumors of the soft top sidekicks and trackers' windshield frame flexing causing the windshield to crack . either way, it would be nice to have a new windshield, and I suppose I could go to the local pick and pull and get some side windows from a newer one that doesnt have any scratches and has that slight tint to keep the sun out (like what newer cars have)

i have one on my 97 4 door sport, it is a little bigger of a hood than the 2 dr though.
mine is actually a suzuki one, call the dealer

autozone and advance auto parts both carry ventshade products, and ventshade makes a bugflector II that will fit the early trackers. if you watch the prices you can usually pick one up for around $48.00 plus tax, although more than likely you will wait a day or two for it to come in, as they only stock the more common applications in the stores. This will need to come from their distribution center which can take a few days. They also make the rainshield things that go on the side windows as well. not sure on pricing for those though.

     I'm not sure if they help on Trackers, but the one on our Explorer made a huge difference in bugs on the windshield. 

I had one on mine, it's a ventshade. I took it off though once I started wheeling it it tighter trails, cause I didn't want it to get broken. It did cause a bit of rust on the hood where it rubbed the paint away.

i don't care for them much myself.  short summers here in northern Minnesota anyway.  then in the winter it's tough to get all the snow off the hood with the bug shield there.  the snow under them then gets blown back into the windshield when you drive at each bump you hit.  just more trouble than they're worth to me... imho.

Not too much of a rust problem here in california . I mainly want one to keep bugs (summer) and the sand slurry kicked up by cars in front of me(winter) off my windshield. I do a lot of travelling in the traker, so this is kind of important

I have seen the Bug Deflectors if not painted black burn the paint under the plastic.
