crazy winter project idea
« on: August 30, 2006, 03:27:10 PM »
I have not been here much lately, I acquired a 93 range rover classic.  I dont mind it, but deep down I miss my old tracker.  So driving home yesterday I had an idea.  A 4door sidekick should fit right on the frame of the range rover.   If not, cut it off behind the doors and put on a flatbed.  That would leave me with an aluminum 200hp  3.9L v8 powered 4door sidekick on 1ton axles.    I'm sure it's not as easy as it sounds, but it sounds like a very good idea.

TO BOLDLY GO WHERE NO JEEP HAS GONE BEFORE!

Its probably not as complicated as my idea of buying this 1987 samurai tin top with no engine or trans or t case(but everything else) and putting a diesel from a VW in it. I think it is going to take some time, but when it is finished, I think it will be the coolest vehicle I have owned yet ;D. It would be a combination of things I have always wanted: A straight axle in the front, A diesel, A volkswagen, and a samurai ;D.
Runnin' it stock with 225/75R15s and an unmodified 8valve TBI motor (I need a doug thoroley header and a cam) (more power) (1.6 liters of madness) (vroom + sewing machine sounds)
