It's Alive!
« on: September 06, 2006, 08:21:52 PM »
Well, sorta...

I need to bleed the brakes, finish the bodywork and Herculine the rockers, and (if it ever gets here ::)) install the Calmini 3" suspension and 1" spacers. It rubs the inner fenders, and that's even with trimming like crazy and bashing the pinch seam in. Bumpers are comming along nicely as well. You'll notice I had to rebuild the lower rockers due to hidden rust. You'll never even notice Once it's bedlined. ;)

Rims are 15x8 with 3 3/4" BS. They were $133 CAD a piece.

Ya, it's an ARB top. much cheaper than buying the whole thing. Here's a pic of how it ties into the airbox. 8" of shop vac hose and a few hose clamps and voila!

I think the worst part of this project has been all the small pissing around. Things like the steering extention (which I feel Calmini should include, whether you need it or not), Bending the shifter, welding on the t-case shifter extention, checking the and relocating vac lines, bleeding the brakes, and so on, and so on....

This shit's not easy for the average Joe with no welder or limited shop supplies or tools. Thank god I have a friend that's a machinist. Plus, Calmini's instructions suck!
