Sidekick 2" spacer lift questions
« on: March 20, 2007, 05:36:47 PM »
alright, heres the deal.
I have my 94 sidekick with a 2" sping spacer lift. It has stock shocks and struts with the 2" strut spacer, Running 29" tires on sami wheels.

Question is since im gonna be towing with it could i buy air shocksfor a 92 crown vic to make up the 2" diffrence and make it more tow friendly because it already sits like a boat as is.

HIJACKERS® Air Adjustable

America’s First Name in Air Adjustable Shocks
Specially designed for pulling boats, trailers, or carrying any heavy loads
Improves handling and prevents bottoming out
Easy to inflate, these shocks pump up just like a tire
Up to 1,100 pounds per pair of extra lifting capacity

Second question is i have a set of camber bolts i got from www.boondoxmotorsports.com and im not shure if i need to place these in the upper or lower strut bolt hole to get the desired effect.

as you can see the top of the tire sticks out further than the bottom
here is a animation showing the magna cam installation.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
"MAGNA-CAM"

Part #41-147

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE BEGINNING "MAGNA-CAM" INSTALLATION

1. Inspect vehicle for damaged or worn parts and repair as necessary. Take camber readings to determine which side of vehicle needs the most correction and proceed with that side first.

2. Raise vehicle by the pinch welds and allow the suspension to hang free.

3. Remove wheel assembly (optional).

4. Remove upper strut bolt and, if necessary, verify the diameter of O.E. bolt to determine which size "MAGNA-CAM" kit to install. (See bolt size chart listed on these instructions)

5. Before installing Magna-Cam, line up slot on nylon sleeve with reference line on bolt head. (See Figure #1.) IMPORTANT: DO NOT INSTALL "MAGNA-CAM" on vehicles with elongated holes In strut flange. (See Figure #2)

NOTE: The slot on the nylon sleeve (and corresponding reference line on bolt head) should face OUTWARD to increase camber and INWARD to decrease camber. (See Figure #3.)

6.Holding nylon sleeve to prevent rotation, install "Magna-Cam" in place of the discarded bolt and hand tighten only.

7. Loosen lower strut bolt.

8. Re-install wheel assembly and alignment heads. IMPORTANT: Lower vehicle on to turn plates or rear slip plates and jounce the suspension (this allows wheels to be adjusted in or out to achieve proper camber setting while weight is on vehicle)

9. Adjust camber by turning "Magna-Cam" in either direction.

10. After desired camber is obtained, torque "Magna-Cam" and lower strut mounting bolt to vehicle manufacturers specifications.

NOTE: Three (3) flat washers are packaged with "Magna-Cam". One washer is required at bolt head, and the other two (2) washers may be needed as spacers to keep self locking nut from bottoming out against bolt threads.

11. Proceed with alignment and road test vehicle.

NOTE: Because of variance in strut to knuckle hole locations, on some vehicles a greater camber change may be achieved by placing "Magna-Cam" in the Lower hole. If this is done, THE POSITIONING OF THE OFFSET SLEEVE IS REVERSED. (See Figure 3)

all i need to do is install these corectly and im gonna save 120$ from my alignment guy if i install these corectly so thats why im messing with it.
thanks  &  4:20
