carbureted 16v 1.6?
« on: November 26, 2006, 02:26:09 AM »
I'm new here so please forgive me if this topic has been discussed to death! I receintly purchased 16v sidekick engine (exact year unknown) for my samurai and it appears to be missing important efi components. Mas air, crank trigger, one harness got the axe, etc.. Can I use this engine with my 1.3 intake and webber? If so, what distributor do I use. The 1.3 distributor appears to turn a different direction than the 1.6 which means I can't use it in the 1.6 because the vacuum advance would be vacuum retard, or am I missing something here? Any advice? Thanks, dave...

I know of one person that runs a carb on a 16V. His name is Tim Pink and you can contact him through the Difflock Suzuki forum. There are a number of threads with pics on the old forum

He came up with a solution for the dizzy problem and also made up a plate to blank off the injector positions.
