My '88 Samurai with 235's gets 23-25mpg on 85 octane.

I'll add that my other Samurai with 4" lift and 31x11.50 Swampers got 20mpg dead even. I also had a '90 Tracker on 225's that got about 25mpg until it chipped a valve, dropped down to about 13mpg.
