How do you get into the vent system?
« on: August 21, 2007, 03:33:53 PM »
It seems that the mice have found a way, so how do I get into it?
The fan started to make an awful racket the other day, so I knew I got something in there.
I tried to get the fan out last night, only to get it part way out to find I had sucked up some moldy cat food.  So I worked and worked and got it out.  I pulled out of the garage this morning, and promptly sucked more stuff into the fan.  It has been pretty hot here lately, so I do like my AC.  Any suggestions on how to get into the system and get it all cleaned out?
And do you think I could find my 8mm wrench?  It is a real PITA to get into.
Thanks,
Jeff

Talked to my Dad last night.  He had to deal with this on both his Tracker and Zuk. He said he had to change a fan after a dead mouse had caused it to break.  He had to clean out the other one, and He had Mom do it cause she could get under the dash better than him.  so I figured if Mom could do it I could.
I got the fan out, cleaned it out, and vacuumed the vent system.  It was a bugger to get the fan back in.  It works great.
Now my cruise wont work. The light comes on but it wont work. I need it to keep at a legal speed on the freeway. ;D   I guess I have to look at it tomorrow night.
