So how bad is that to drive on?  I have to get to work tomorrow and my pickup is on jackstands awaiting tires and wheels to be mounted on each other and then installed...and made to fit.

I drove it Saturday and all was fine and then the wife drives it to work today and says there's a weird vibration.  I drove it around and sure enough there was this weird vibe that increased and decreased with throttle and speed.

Pop it in neutral and it goes away...aha!

Check the rear driveshaft...yep, slung a weight.

Gotta start calling around for a shop to balance it.

Just in case they're an anal raping, anybody got a spare rear driveshaft that will fit a 96 2 door with the 3 speed automatic and transfer case?

Confirm or deny that 4x4 2 doors use the same rear driveshaft regardless of transmission?

5spd and autos (same body style) will have different lengths

<edit> I mighta jumped the gun ... let me just state, it's unlikely that you can swap shafts from differing trannys without having length issues</edit>

That's what I figured...

...but the Hollander junkyard manual and www.Car-Part.com don't differentiate on the rear driveshaft on 2 door 4x4's.  2wd's and/or 4 doors they differentiate between the MT and the AT but there's only one option for the 4x4 doors.

Karl214 might have one out of a 5 speed and I'm asking him for some dimensions to see what's up.  Wondering if they put a spacer or something in there to keep the 4x4 2 doors the same length.

Short distance travel should be okay with the vibration but not excessive amounts, I would get it balanced quick, should not be that much.
