I have a 95 kicks. Just put a spin tech muffler on it, new spark plugs, wires, air and fuel filter. I spent 300 dollars and she runs pretty pretty strong even with the calmini 2" and some 235/75 BFGs on it, she even runs a little better than stock! Oh ya i still get 30 miles to the gallon on high way....  :)

yeah im curious about the details since youre getting 30mpg  ???
That's not unreasonable, I get 29/30 consistantly.

still kinda curious (i only get 23)

do you drive like ur grandpa?

With stock tires on my '96 convertible I normally got 30.  If I really leaned on it I could get it down to 26-27.  When I went to 235/75s, the best I could get was around 26ish adjusted, 24ish indicated.

As far as I've been able to gather on here when this conversation comes up, the '96 model year trucks seem to average a few MPGs better than the others.  But then, they also seem to have more than their fair share of that damned ecu leaky capacitor issue, too.

True that ... I've got 3 rigs '91 8v, '93 8v, '93 16v and none have had an ECM problem. I guess I mighta just been lucky (so far).

What cheap enhancements don't work? All those spammers got my money and I won't be the next Ron Jeremy? Crap.
More seriously a better burning spark system won't fool the 02 sensor it just burns better.

Air filter, cams, headers, coil, wires and plugs. these things can be gotten in performance trim for pretty cheap. A good tune up is your best start. Beyond that there are super and turbo charging options. Anybody know why with only 8 or 8.5:1 from factory not many have gone to high compression pistons?
5psi turbo '90 2dr 5spd 8v Tracker, Lt235s, 1" spacers, Rocker Rails, Warn Hubs, Custom half door,--GONE!
