1.8 L info
« on: November 27, 2007, 09:11:18 PM »
So wile perusing the local Junk yard I saw a Suzuki Esteem 1.8L 16v MPFI with coil on plug ignition. Seemed to have an intact engine bay. I'm not sure of the year. The lady behind the counter says the motor wiring, harness and ECM could be mine for about $350. Is it worth it? How much is there in gains over my '90 8v? Does it take well to tuning for power? Turbo? Are they the same bell housing paterns?

I just bought a 1.6 from a Baleno, MPFI, COP all the good stuff. The water pipes come out the back of the head wrong for a Track/Kick. On the 1.6 I can swap the outlet assembly for a Track/Kick part, I don't know about the 1.8 buts its worth checking that out. If you can get the harness and all parts then (if someone confirms it'll fit) I say go for it. Don't forget to get the immobiliser, transducer and ignition key too.
I think Eric did a 1.8 swap once and Sean at Aftermarket4x4 probably knows about this swap too.
