Hi- I just installed a new weber 34/34 I runs great if I choke it to death but runs rich. If I set the choke correct it won't accellerate very well it kinda hickups and then go's. I am wondering if it has to do with the fuel pressure or vaccume ??? Any suggestions Thanks.

Did you buy the carburator new? If so, is there an instruction set that came with it?

Yes, I bought it new the weber instructions don't tell u much about trouble shooting... I think the jet is to big for the motor because it runs rich..... I guess I will try weber tech line...

If I'm not mistaken the set up proceedure says 1 1/2 turns out on the mixture screw and adjust throttle screw for idle. They do tend to run rich above 3000 ft. Make sure you dont have an air leak on the base plate. I have ran four Webbers on four Sams ( You are talking about a Sam ? ) over the years and never had to adjust for fuel pressure. Since you disconnected all the old Vac lines,  the only vac leak would be at the base plate or manifold right ? Plug everything else off. Every one I ever hooked up ran like a scalded dog....untill the base plates worked loose....locktite on studs and nuts. Your timeing is correct ?

You sound proficient so I'm sure you have checked all the normal stuff. I have a Webber book somewhere. Get back at me if I you need a look up.  Pm is ok.

I just got done tune a 32/36. When i first put mine on my '88 sammy i had almost the same issue. If it's a new carb check the primary idle jet if that is too big it will flood out or run really rich. I'm running a "40" and it runs great. Check the posting "need help with Weber 32/36" back on 12.25.07 at 5:30 ish.

Plus like what was said above, make sure that base plates not leaking and that you don't have a vac line hooked up to the vent on the fuel bowl, it looks like something goes there but it does not, if you do then it will do the same thing, flood out and/or run like crap.
