4wd light flashes
« on: March 01, 2008, 08:46:20 PM »
Hello everyone,

I was reading an old post on this subject but I'm not sure if it's the same problem I'm having.  My 4wd light flashes off then on once, every so often while I'm driving in 4wd (in 4 HI in a snow storm for example).  The 4wd seems to be working ok because I don't have traction problems.  Could this be a bad bulb or the actual hubs unlocking then locking again?  My truck's an '02 Vitara 4 cyl auto.

Any ideas?

There is a switch on the transfercase that sends the current to that light.  You may want to unplug it and clean the terminal point and see it the helps.

Check for leaks in the pipework to the diff, also check the electrical connections to the air pump.
