GRVIT, do you have the Jimny or the coily Sammi in your area? The high range on their t-case is around 1.3:1 not 1.4:1 like the other Sammi's. Also, I think you'll find that dimensionally the t-case is a little shorter as well making the driveline angles a bit better if you use it for a dual t-case setup. As well if you do this you won't need the 4.24:1 gears plus it will be great for 33's. The Coily/Jimny owners get rid of their t-cases because the can't fit the crawler gears into them ( they need the older style case ) so you might be able to pick it up cheap.

cj  thanks. We have coily Jimny s here.I ve never thought about using a Jimny t-case.Maybe because all mods are for the Sammy t-case,but as you say, rockcrawler gears wont be needed.Good.The  problem is fabricating the parts to connect it.And another problem is that I cant understand how the connections are done.I ve seen photos but the only show either the sammy t-case only or the Kick's case.I think a simple drawing would help me more,at least just to get the main meaning.

lookin to add a divorced sammi t-case to behind my stock tracker unit.

I saw that someone said something about the hi range reduction being like 40%? How is this?

Are the sammi units hi range reduced from the get go?

Yes they are. You might be better off using the OT Industries kicker3 setup, it's a little shorter in length than using any kind of divorced setup.

It sounds like your trying to get better HI end speed.

I run the 5.83's also with 32x11.5 tires.  My speedo is dead on.  So that means the engine and trans are running in the same range as a stocker.

It takes a lot of power to turn these tires.  It's not going to help to reduce the gearing any lower.  You might as well run it now in 3rd or 4th gear only.  There's only so much power.

I also have the 4.24 gear set.  Its great for crawling through stuff.

The duel case idea is a good one, but what reason are you doing it for?  The great combinations you can get out of them or for the HI reductions?

The Hi reduction, and the better low range also and the fact the stupid low combos I could go later on down the road when I have $$!. I think overall with the connections I have, it will be cheaper then a new gearset for the Tracker T-case

I found some 33x10.50 boggers that have caught my eye!

I thought about dual cases for the same reasons you are suggesting.  However, after thinking about it further and doing some math, I decided to go with one sammy case with 6.5-1 gear set inside.  My axles will have 5.38s so this will be plenty low enough for some bigger rock slicks.  On my 35" boggers with the 5.125 ring and pinions and Calmini's 4.2-1 sidekick case I only needed to be lower geared (off road) in very rare cases.  And with the auto crawling was incredible.  I hopefully might be able to use overdrive again on the streets with the new set up.   I just don't see a need for running two cases when the samurai case can give you everything you need by itself.  Just my two cents.

I've thought about going to duel cases some day.

Like I said I have the 4.24:1 gear set.  Which is great for crawling over obsticals.

But, when I'm just driving down the trail I wish I had my stock low range for the easy stuff.  Now I have to stop, shift to low, get over the obstical, stop, shift to hi, them get going....

Also, I like to run in sand.  The 4.24:1 is too low for sand.  When I have the stock low gearing it was perfect.  Right know I'm able to do just about anything at the dunes in 2wd with the rear end locked.  There's one hill that the only way I can get over is in low, 4th gear, and over 5,000 rpms.

And finally there have been times I wished I had just a little lower reduction.

So I'd like to have a stock geared tracker case bolted to a sami with a 4:1 gear set.

Then I'd have a combo of:  2wd |removethispart|@ 2:1, 4wd |removethispart|@ 2:1, 4:1, and 8:1.

OK well if you want to have a vehicle that performs like a stocker with 5.125's and 27" tires if you go to 5.38s you could run 28's and if you then add the Sammi case you could then look at 40's and if you then add a 6.50 you could run 48's not allowing for losses due to increased rotational mass and that I would love to see  :o and if you were happy just to keep the performance you have now you could run 62" tires so yeah your overdrive just might get used again if you run anything smaller than this  ;D

I don't know about you, but I like to go as slow as I can off road...  I can always upshift.  Once I'm running 37" or taller tires I'll need all that gearing.  I guess we have a difference of opinion.
