4-door "ON 34's"  Pictures
« on: October 07, 2004, 01:15:43 AM »
Finially have the 34's under the 4-door.   But now they look way too small.  The spare tire on back is a BFG 33x9.50-15.  I custom fabbed rock rails into my Rusted out factory rockers, not sure i like the silver rocker paint, black would look better.  Installed the 4.24:1 Tcase gears and welded up the rear diff.  Finished up the new exhaust late yesterday 2" with a turbo tube (14" long baffeled / not hollow, 6" round glass pack shape  Very heavy wall construction) awsome sound for a 4-banger.  Exhaust is all tucked up above the frame in prep for a skid plate at a later time.

Should be at Zuwharrie 9pm tonight.

Now I really want a 4dr.  What kind of lift do you have?

Have a great time and bring back pictures.
The 'pink' over silver front could look decent with the silver rails with a little paint flow over the hood onto the doors. However, black touches on a white base is better.

On your rails, why didn't you add an upper rail to protect the lower door when you are off camber when climbing? This could also be used, if designed right, as a step, shin killer, calf rubber, foot base for exterior weight ballast, tow point, pull point, etc.

Man, paint that grill to match your rockers ;D

Looks great... those 34's only look small since you stuck the 36" TSLs on there ;D ;D

Zuwharrie was an awsome time.  Hope to get some pictures up soon.  I was using a staff camera. Sorry but, currently I have nothing  :-/   Should be 3 days to 2 weeks, as they have got Llts of stuff to clean up and sort thru.

In response to the post on page 1.

The lift is all custom but is based loosely on the Chevy full size IFS design.  I cut welded and dropped everything myself moving the stock geometry down 4", Then adding the usuall 1" or 2" + a 2" body lift.
Sorry but I do not have good numbers on the actual height and it did settled some over the weekend.  I know even with the front 2"+ Explorer coils the struts will bottom fairly easy now.  It is twisting up much better.

With the factory rockers shaved off, I couldn't run the rocker protection any higher because it would interfer with opening the doors.  SO I'm looking at maybe adding some tube to help keep the doors clean.

The grill is from my DD 98 kick that is in the picture in front of my 4-door.  It is actually dark red metalic but did not photo well.

The approach and departure angle on a Bumperless 4-door on 34's is very close to 90 Deg.  This has definatly changed my ideias on bumper design.  The Wranglers on 33's had to get out and stack rocks.   ;D ;D ;D    ::)

 Can't wait for the pictures.

Have you got any close up pictures of the new rockers? I am thinking about doing something similar to mine as my rockers panels are very beat up.
