Not your typical 3" hybrid lift idea. A new option

I was thinking hard last night and came up with this:

The rear is straightforward:

Ford Mustang or F-150 shocks ($50)
Rear balljoint spacer ($30)
Boondox 3" lift springs, or ZukiNation 3" lift springs ($150)
Possibly a driveshaft spacer if it is required ($40)

The front is a little more complex due to IFS's more complex nature:

1989 Dodge Colt Vista 4WD Wagon struts with the coil bucket cut off (1.5" longer than stock, read on Zuwharrie.com that they are a direct bolt in)
stock Sidekick strut mount flipped (gains another 1 or 1.5" of travel back)
ZukiNation differential drop brackets ($175)
ZukiNation 3" lift coils


What do you all think? See any shortcomings in this plan? Any suggestions?

How did you get the 3'' springs without the kit?

I got your Jeep thang,  thats why it burns when I pee..

The strut flip only gives 3/4" extra droop because of the way the mounting flange is offset. You will still need to check that you have enough CV travel to run the strut flip and the longer struts. On the Calmini lift the CVs are further extended than stock, possibly because of the way the diff is rotated, this limits the amount of downtravel available. You will also need camber adjustment bolts. I'll be interested to find out how the Dodge struts perform.

How exactly are you going to drop your front diff. without dropping the LCA's too? ??? Doesn't sound right to me...but if it will work then go for it

The diff isn't attached to the LCAs. The only thing restricting lowering the diff is the crossmember under the 3rd. The diff is lowered more at the front so its more of a rotation - that brings the diff outputs down lower. Just remember to fill the diff housing with the front lifted so you get enough oil in.
