Automatic 3speed problems>?

Ok, when I start the car, I let it warm up, I put the gear into reverse, it pulls out the parking space fine. When I then switch it to drive, i release the brake, it feels like its in neutral? Ill rev it up a bit, keep holding the gas pedal, then I slowly start to feel it move, like its trying to catch something, eventually it will start to move. But also, when I am flipping a u turn, same problem, either direction in a turn, it will fee like its in neutral, slowly rolling, feeling like the tranny is trying to engage, then it will jump, or creep up to speed again. its like having a bad clutch on a manual transmission where the clutch doesnt grip anymore.

the tranny fluid is toped off and is the recommend fluid by the dealership, i threw the bottle away so dont have the exact info, but you guys know which one im talking about.

any idea as to what it is? I remember a while back, someone told me it might be the transmission filter? I havent done this yet because i havent been driving it lately. Is there also a thread somewhere that I might be able to familiarize my self on how these transmissions work?  ;D

i run my auto with the fluid hal.f way up the dipstick i know crazy but in my buggie its the only way it works it will not engage on steep angles with the fluid where its suppose to be, but on road it should. work maybe  chang.e the filter and flush it out i hope you figure it out

thanks dude! yeah, when i was climbin some steep mini hills, it would be jumping like it was disengaging and then engaging again, i feel like if it does that hard enough, i might break a drive shaft or an axle!

i think im gonna check out that tranny filter and see what thats about

here is the ride

I run my trans with the fluid over full for the same reason, just add another
half to full quart of dexron III and call it good, you might add some Lucas
Trans stuff first then drive it and see.

thanks! yeah, 150bucks is way better! haha! but mine is bone stock too, very clean though! heres a pic before i gave it a little mud bath   >:D

im sure the tranny is still fine, maybe just a bit more fluid or filter will do the job, the lady i picked it up off of was my boss and wasnt going to sell until she knew she couldnt take with her to florida, she thought i might like it, even though she had a buyer for 2 grand! she just gave it to me because i was driving a mint condition porsche 914 which costed me 20bucks a day to drive from work to home (52 miles one way)

i didnt really know to much about the trackers. when i first googled about it and saw what they are all about, i automatcally fell in love with it! so i swooped it up in a heart beat! iv always wanted a some sort of off roading rig, just didnt know what to look for, and would have never thought that a geo can do the job! when i found out it was actually a suzuki, it was even better! i drove the tracker until the power steering went out a bit and tranny was acting a bit funny. i was able to fix the clutch braket on my crx so i have been driving that since, but i want to drive tracker so bad! i cant wait until monday to get it smoged!  8)

thanks dude! it helped! i saw that the fluid was at the line when it was cold, i added another quart, it worked just a tad bit, then i added another quart to where the dip stick was now showing full at the hot line and IT WORK PERFECT! when i turned sharp lefts and sharp rights, i didnt go into neutral like it did before! so happy! goin to get is smoged, hopefully it passes!  >:D

i also noticed a tad leak under the tranny where the tranny oil pan is at, guess i gotta get the gasket and ima change the filter while im at it too.

oh yeah, forgot to mention, with the power steering problems, i check the pump, the braket was loose, i tightned it correclty, but the pump still seemed to lock up! even though fluid was topped off. so what i did was i took the power steering belt off and said the hell with it for now. im used to it, my crx is actually harder to turn then this bad boy!  :P
